Sociology

You will learn about how society is organised and how we experience life, investigate different perspectives on a variety of societies, and apply this knowledge to examine and analyse these in new and thought-provoking ways. This will be through GCSE Sociology (AQA) at key stage 4. You can then broaden your experiences at key stage 5 in A level Sociology (OCR) where you will demonstrate your ability to acquire knowledge and a critical understanding of contemporary social processes and social changes and formulate clear, logical arguments with scope for extensive evaluation from a range of theoretical perspectives.

You may like to read the documents below to discover the specific topics and skills covered by the Sociology department and the order in which you will study them as you go through the school.
