Modern Foreign Languages
You will learn both French and Spanish, specialising in one of them by year 9, investigate the cognates from each language to improve in the other, and apply this knowledge to practical application in conversations. You can then broaden your experiences at GCSE French and/or Spanish (AQA) and A level French and/or Spanish (AQA), where you will demonstrate your ability to extend your vocabulary, translate and engage with authentic texts and immerse yourself in the cultural influences which have shaped the languages.
You may like to read the documents below to discover the specific topics and skills covered by the Modern Foreign Languages department and the order in which you will study them as you go through the school.
